School Board Policy 7.78, adopted in 2008, calls for the re-adoption of Educational Specifications at least every three years.  The Board last adopted the elementary specs in 2005 and the high school specs this past January; the middle school specs have not been adopted in the format used since 2005.  All three levels are being addressed at this time in order to update common elements on a consistent basis.  The documents represent the work of at least two dozen staff members, and the School Board reviewed the draft documents at the November 17 Work Session.  Safety & security, Small Learning Communities, and the middle school teaming model are among those issues that have been reinforced.  Significant changes include an updating to Media, clarification of all levels' playgrounds and athletic fields, and the deletion of product-specific items.  In the attached documents, changes are underlined and deleted language is struck-through.
